Log homes are a passion with us. We love the craftsmanship and uniqueness of each one. There are many builders who can construct a stick frame home, but there is just something about a log home that is unmatched. Starting out in major remodels (oh the stories we could tell- one house had raccoons living in it), and then progressing to new construction, the log homes were always our favorite.
In 2004 we moved to the Rocky Mountain State of Montana. After building log cabins out of everything from random length logs to full pre-cut packages, we crossed paths with Lake Country Log Homes of British Columbia. Mike and I are very hands-on type people. When a home is under construction you don’t have to look too far to find one of us. After briefly representing another big name log home company, we knew that we desired a more family type company with which to do business. Lake Country is just that. It is owned and operated by the Don Gervais and his two sons, Rob and Jamie. These are the type people, like us, that don’t just give up when the economy slows or rough times come. After 25 years, they are still going strong.
Lake Country is a family business, but they can build with the best of them. In 2004 they had a fully computerized log mill specially developed which can produce some 1500 homes per year. And then there are the handcrafted Western Red Cedar Homes. Photos are the only way to describe them. From lodges to small cabins, post and beam there is nothing at which thye have not excelled.
It is our privilege to have the opportunity to work with a log home manufacturer of this caliber.
